Colours displayed on this website, colour cards, fan decks, printed materials, and electronic screens are intended as a guide only. Due to variations in display technology, printing processes, lighting conditions, and viewing environments, the final applied colour may differ from what is shown or selected.

1. Application Requirements

For correct colour development and durability, paint must be applied in a minimum of two full coats to properly prepared and suitably primed surfaces. The colour, condition, and type of primer used may influence the final appearance of the colour.

2. Surface & Environmental Influence

Colour appearance may be affected by surface texture and porosity, moisture content of the substrate, ambient temperature, humidity, application method (brush, roller, or spray), lighting conditions, and reflected light from surrounding surfaces. These factors are inherent to paint application and are not considered product defects.

3. Fan Decks, Pages & Colour Spectrums

Fan deck cards and page numbers are provided to assist with identifying colour families and matching colours within a specific colour spectrum. Minor differences between adjacent colours may still occur once applied and viewed under real-world conditions.

4. Batch Variation

Minor colour variations may occur between different production batches. Where colour consistency is critical, it is recommended that sufficient quantities be ordered from the same batch to complete the project.

5. Dark Colours & Ultraviolet (UV) Exposure

Darker colours generally contain lower levels of titanium dioxide and may therefore be more susceptible to fading or colour shift when exposed to prolonged ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

For this reason, darker colours are recommended primarily for interior applications. Exterior use remains a matter of personal preference and environmental exposure and may require more frequent maintenance. This is considered normal wear and tear and not a product failure.

6. Interior Lighting Effects

Interior lighting, including natural and artificial light sources, may cause colours to appear lighter, darker, warmer, or cooler than expected. Reflections from adjacent walls, floors, ceilings, and furnishings may further influence colour perception.

7. Testing & Approval

Customers are strongly encouraged to apply on-site test patches, allow sufficient drying time, and view colours under actual lighting conditions before proceeding with full application. Once applied, colour acceptance is deemed final.

8. Limitation of Responsibility

Classic Paints (Pty) Ltd cannot be held responsible for colour variations resulting from substrate condition, application methods, environmental exposure, lighting conditions, batch differences, or deviations from recommended preparation or application practices.

All colours are supplied subject to standard manufacturing tolerances, terms and conditions, and the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act.
