GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Gypsum fillers should not be used for outside walls since they retain dampness. gypsum plastering must not be done in areas which are continuously damp such as bathroom etc. Gypsum fillers should not be used in coastal areas as is could cause efflorescence. CLASSIC CRACKFIX™ is a single component, mortar mix, easy to use, paintable, UV stable crack filler, with only addition of water at application site. CLASSIC CRACKFIX™ mixed with water, can be applied as joint filler, concrete or plaster crack filler or as a patch-up compound.


USES

CLASSIC CRACKFIX™ enhances strength, resilience and load bearing properties. Exudes excellent water resistance, enhanced adhesion and good flexibility. Applied over damp surfaces. Can be used for filling narrow cracks. Non-shrink repair product, just add water.


TECHNICAL DATA

  • Mixture of Portland Cement, Sika Sand and other Classic Paints Secrete Ingredients;

  • PACKING SIZE – 500 Grams, 1Kilogram, 2,5 Kilograms and 20 Kilograms.


APPLICATION

  • Correct surface preparation is essential. All areas being treated must be thoroughly cleaned removing all loose material, dust, dirt, grime, or any other barrier to adhesion;

  • Using clean water dampen all surfaces just prior to application of the CLASSIC CRACKFIX™;

  • More water can be applied if consistency is too thick;

  • If a thicker consistency is required to give the mix better filling properties, less water should be added;

  • Ensure to mix the solution during application to avoid settling. Once mixed, Pot Life is approximately 1 hour, depending on temperatures;

  • When too much water is added, it could sag, add final scheming layer;

  • Allow minimum 4 hours drying time.


STORAGE

Store under cover, away from damp, rain, frost and direct sunlight.


IMPORTANT

  • The ambient temperature must be between 5ºC and 35ºC and humidity between 10% and 85%;

  • Do not apply too early as the surface may still be damp - apply only when the surface is dry;

  • Do not apply in too hot weather, rather early morning and after lunch, the slower the product dries, the longer it lasts;

  • Excessive application thickness and/or rapid drying could lead to cracking;

  • Avoid applying under adverse weather conditions as this could result in poor product performance;

  • Excessively friable surfaces should be cleaned down prior to application;

  • Not recommended for fibre glass water features or ponds;

  • Not recommended for over coating bitumen systems.


SAFETY

Painting is a relatively user-friendly activity if the proper precautions are taken to ensure safety;

  • It is advisable to wear gloves as CRACKFIX™ could be difficult to remove from the skin;

  • Always keep out of reach of children and animals;

  • Do not take in orally - harmful if swallowed. Seek medical attention and do not induce vomiting;

  • If accidental contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice;

  • Ventilate the area to be painted, opening all doors and windows and using fans during application and drying;

  • Protect floors with cloth Drop Cloths, not plastic, which is far more slippery;

  • Make sure your ladder is in good shape. Set the legs on an even surface and lock the cross braces. Do not stand on the top of the ladder or on the utility shelf. If you are having difficulty reaching a spot, get down from the ladder and move it rather than leaning out;

  • Clean up carefully and thoroughly when you are done for the day.
